Our Nashville client is seeking an Estate Accountant/Paralegal.
Duties include:
- Assist with estate administration by gathering information for and preparing pleadings and tax returns, using EstateVal program to value securities, using Excel spreadsheets to summarize asset information, and using Form 706 estate tax preparation software to prepare tax returns.
- Assist with estate planning by drafting wills, trusts and other documents using firm Will drafting software and Word forms, and preparing spreadsheets and flowcharts using Excel to illustrate estate plans.
- Assist, as necessary, with real estate, corporate and exempt organization documents and tax returns using firm forms in Word and tax preparation software.
Skills and Experience
- Direct experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation.
- Direct experience with accounting software and tax preparation software
- Familiarity with probate and estate administration process.
- Familiarity with deeds and corporate documents.
- Ability to gather and organize financial information, read brokerage statements and reconcile bank statements.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- 4-year college degree
- accounting/finance coursework preferred

- Able to interact with clients, financial advisors, brokers and bankers personally and through correspondence in a professional manner.
- Able to prioritize work to meet deadlines for multiple attorneys.
- Able to keep several projects going at the same time and keep track of status of projects.
