What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donor Relations Associate position at League of Women Voters of the United States?
Reporting to the Senior Director, Direct Response and Digital, the Donor Relations Associate is a key part of the League’s Development team. In their role, the Donor Relations Associate is responsible for managing and enhancing relationships with donors by ensuring timely responses to donor requests, accurate record-keeping, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about building relationships to support the organization’s mission.
Job Responsibilities :
· Serves as the frontline point of contact for all donor related inquiries, to include mail, phone and email.
· Provides exceptional customer service to donors, ensuring their contributions are recognized and appreciated.
· Coordinates all aspects of LWV’s donor stewardship program, including drafting acknowledgement letters, processing contributions, and handling customer service requests.
· Maintains and updates donor records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
· Processes donations, refunds, and chargebacks using a variety of gift processing platforms (Authorize.net, Salsa, and Engaging Networks).
· Assists the Direct Response and Advancement teams with drafting and sending gift acknowledgment letters and other donor communications.
· Assists the Direct Response team with data hygiene and cleanup projects.
· Assists the Advancement team with screening donors for major gift outreach.
· Reports monthly on volume of calls, emails, and other forms of donor correspondence
· Documents all donor services procedures and periodically reviews, revises, and updates procedures to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Provides administrative support to departmental projects as needed. Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, officemachinery. If remote, this person should plan to travel 1 – 3 times per year for office/teambuilding events. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Requirements:Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• 3-5 years of work experience required.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, including experience in coordinating a variety of tasks simultaneously, maintaining well organized and detailed records, as well as proven ability to complete projects.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, able to respond to donor inquiries in a warm, friendly, and welcoming manner.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently but also function as a team player.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• High degree of maturity and trustworthiness, able to handle sensitive personal and financial information with confidentiality.
• Prior experience with non-profits and/or membership groups preferred.
• Database experience is strongly preferred, familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
• High degree of comfort working with new/varied tech platforms is required, experience with Microsoft Office products is a plus.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
