The Education Specialist (ES) will be responsible for providing resources, developing, and writing curriculum and teacher resources utilizing research based best practices, creating professional development tools for field staff, ensuring integrity of programming deployed to the field through ongoing interactions with end users as well as collecting and analyzing data to help drive the department strategic plan. The ES will build strong relationships with key field leaders to help support rollout and implementation of key education initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in the creation, development, and implementation of tools and resources that will differentiate and strengthen Learning Care Group education programs.
- Consistently contribute to the continuing revision and improvement of the curriculum and the myPath app.
- Research new strategies and articles related to curriculum, behavior, classroom management, coaching, leadership, and family communication.
- Regularly attend advisory group meetings. Present research findings and new ideas for the revision, writing, and creating of new curriculum.
- Create and write new proprietary curriculum and enhancements to existing curriculum and teacher’s guidance used to help school staff implement curriculum as intended.
- Support schools in setting positive behavior goals and intervention plans for individual children or classrooms including strategies to help support teachers.
- Assist and coach the field (Division Vice President, District Manager, Director, and Teachers) in education, curriculum, and behavior related questions including programs, talking points, school needs, child, and family needs.
- Create and log documentation related to curriculum, education needs ,and child behavior assignments as needed.
- Participate in and deliver curriculum training as it relates to topics such as new curriculum or curriculum enhancements, acquisition and new builds, and teacher professional development.
- Support onsite school and classroom setup for all new builds and acquisitions schools as needed.
- Execute tasks associated with large projects as directed by Education Manager or Department Director and partner cross functionally with departments such as Operations, Human Resources, and Legal to deliver results as required.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years teaching and/or leadership experience in the early childhood, Kindergarten, or early elementary space
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare center as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Director or Director preferred.
- Experience creating professional development and training resources preferred.
