About The Position
In Order to Succeed in this role
- 2 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in construction.
- Certified in OSHA 30; CPR/First Aid.
- Computer proficiency required; experience with Safety Net or other safety tracking and reporting systems I preferred.
- Working knowledge of Worker’s Compensation regulations and Department of occupational Safety & Health rules and regulations.
- The ability to identify and resolve safety hazards is required.
- Experience in claims management and proper documentation is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a workforce of diverse backgrounds, education, experience etc.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, as well as developing and delivering effective job safety training.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve complex problems.
- Ability to work independently, organized, accountable and dependable.
- Proficient computer skills, and the ability to write pre-task plans, JHA and work plans.
- Team player, ability to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to collect and interpret data and apply it in a practical approach.
- Responsive to jobsite needs and/or concerns.
Administrative Tasks
- Lead general administrative tasks related to the overall function of the safety department.
- Update safety information on company intranet site.
- Send out safety reminders to workforce.
- Plan and schedule trainings, management meetings, and celebratory activities throughout the company.
- Organize and create content for safety related communications.
- Assist in organizing company-wide safety awareness campaigns.
- Support activities related to company safety committees.
- Conduct the inventory of safety supplies and order as needed.
- Create, copy, and hang signage & forms as needed.
- Taking meeting minutes and distributing as needed.
- Schedule and track training.
- Assist in the badging process for the site as needed.
- Input and extract data from Safety Net Procore.
- Develop new and improved statistical measurement metrics related to safety performance.
- Assist in data collection and measurement of accountability program.
- Utilize job site Safety Net Procore and conduct general safety audits, ensuring corrective safety observations are documented and safety violations are corrected immediately.
- For compliance audits by regulatory agencies, contact the Safety Director immediately, organize an introductory meeting and attend/support/document the entire audit process as needed.
