We believe in providing exceptional veterinary care for every pet we see. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The veterinary assistant provides support to the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative work. A caring, motivated and compassionate attitude, along with the ability to multitask is essential for success in this position
Responsibilities:
- Genuinely care for animals
- Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments
- Maintain the cleanliness of the hospital each day
- Clean equipment, kennels and facilities using chemicals and supplies
- Complete laundry
- Be comfortable handling dogs and cats
- Take directions by the Licensed Veterinary Technicians
- Operate and maintain hospital equipment
- Have a good attitude
- Customer service mentality
- Must be able to work on your feet all day
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Experience:
- High school diploma, or GED.
- One or more years’ experience in veterinary environment
- Able to perform lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
- Ability to work with or around sick animals
- Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
