Leavitt Machinery is looking for a motivated Construction Sales & Rentals Representative to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As the Construction Sales & Rentals Representative, you will have the opportunity to build your customer base in your assigned territory.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Construction Sales & Rentals Representative your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the sales strategy and plan in your assigned territory, including prospecting, sales lead follow-ups, and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers
- Retaining and growing business relationships with top customer accounts by proactively identifying opportunities and presenting innovative solutions
- Negotiating prices and making deals, turning leads into sales
- Identifying and building relationships with decision makers within existing accounts, creating an on-going relationship strategy and establishing Leavitt as a trusted advisor
- Providing input on target customer opportunities, ensuring alignment with the overall account strategy
- Forecasting and delivering on accounts to ensure success against contract terms
- Coordinating with product experts to identify and capitalize on expansion and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts
- Conducting follow ups with customers on orders, quotes, and services requested
- Sourcing competitor information and analyzing competitor product offerings and pricing to overcome client objections
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- 2-3 years of previous experience in B2B sales is strongly preferred
- Prior sales experience in the material handling equipment or construction industry an asset
- Post-secondary education in Sales, Business, or a related discipline preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident and resilient, with a willingness to continuously learn and grow
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel
- Previous experience working within a CRM system is considered an asset
- Maintaining a valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to travel within assigned territory as needed
- Ability to travel to Canada for initial onboarding and training
