Job Description

The EMR Manager oversees the optimization and utilization of EMR systems across the organization. This role leads cross-functional teams to implement solutions that enhance healthcare delivery and business operations. The EMR Manager identifies workflow improvements, resolves system issues, and drives initiatives to integrate systems for effective care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to analyze workflows, identify pain points, and develop innovative solutions leveraging EMR capabilities.

  
  


• 
  

  Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of EMR customizations, upgrades, and new functionalities.

  
  


• 
  

  Identify and resolve issues related to EMR functionality and data management, implementing system enhancements and updates.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, and HRSA standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations and implement policies to ensure organizational adherence.

  
  


• 
  

  Stay informed about future EMR releases and lead the implementation of new features and upgrades.

  
  

Qualifications

Education

• 
  

  Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  
  

Certifications

• 
  

  Completion of eClinicalWorks Train the Trainer certification within 90 days of hire.

  
  


• 
  

  Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification strongly preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Current BLS and CPR certification through the American Heart Association.

  
  

Experience

• 
  

  3-5 years of experience in informatics and Electronic Health Records (EHR) management.

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  
  


• 
  

  Background in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and/or public health.

  
  


• 
  

  Familiarity with Community Health Clinics.

  
  


• 
  

  eClinicalWorks (ECw) experience is required.

  
  

Skills

• 
  

  Strong knowledge of Health Information Systems processes, healthcare regulations, and electronic health record systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide group and individual training.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, demonstrating strong follow-through.

  Proficient in healthcare information technology and EHR systems (prior eClinicalWorks experience preferred).
