Junior Project Cost Accountant

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a motivated Junior Financial Analyst / Project Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team in Jupiter, Florida. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who will play a key part in financial reporting and analysis within the construction industry. • Conduct construction reporting to provide insights into project costs and financial health.
• Perform cost verification to ensure accurate financial records.
• Participate in the monthly close accounting process to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Analyze variances to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in the preparation of forecasts and budgets to guide financial planning.
• Engage in Excel projects to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Complete assignments as arranged by the controller, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Track budgets to ensure adherence to financial plans.
• Prepare journal entries to support financial transactions and reporting.
• Compile and prepare data for vendors to support supply chain activities.
• Monitor supplies and inventory to ensure optimal levels are maintained.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Prior experience in financial analysis or accounting is an advantage.
