Description
This position conducts routine accounting, cash handling and records keeping.
This job works under general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs accounts payable and accounts receivable functions; maintains financial records and reconciles internal spreadsheets; handles in-person cashier transactions.
- Administers the procurement card program, ensures compliance of policies and procedures, trains and provides direct support to cardholders; acts as a liaison to the bank.
- Processes account payable including all employee reimbursements and contracted invoices; follows administrative codes, quotes and statutes.
- Processes invoices for payment; processes purchase orders and invoices with all pertinent codes, values, and account numbers.
- Maintains databases and generates/prepares statistical reports.
- Evaluate work order requests and enter work orders in the system or email appropriate contacts.
- Processes deposits and maintains petty cash and change fund; performs cash balancing duties; processes journal entries; processes daily ACH transmittals of web/phone payments.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licensing
- Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college in accounting or closely related field and two years accounting, bookkeeping, or closely related experience.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
Supplemental Information
- Experience in JD Edwards E1 software preferred.
- Strong computer skills and ability to use general office equipment; Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, county staff, vendors, and the public.
- Works proactively and independently, with the ability to problem solve and take initiative.
- Outstanding organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and prioritize accordingly to meet deadlines.
- Workdays and hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,876.80 - $69,534.40 per year
