Property Accountant Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between budgeted and actual figures
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and industry standards
- Coordinate with property managers to address financial queries and issues
- Oversee tenant billing and collections, including rent, utilities, and other charges
- Monitor and manage property cash flows and funding requirements
- Assist in the internal and external audit processes
- Develop and implement accounting procedures and controls to improve efficiency
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and real estate industry trends
Property Accountant Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Previous experience in property accounting or real estate finance
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
