What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Tissue Recovery position at LEGACY DONOR SERVICES FOUNDATION?
Manage all aspects of local and remote recovery operations to ensure compliance and staffing requirements of Donor Services are met. Develop implements and manages all standard operating procedures and other procedures as needed for the uniformity and quality of operations, and in keeping with Current Good Tissue Practices (cGTP’s). Maintains regulated operations in keeping with all applicable standards of accreditation and all regulatory requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Responsible for personnel management of Recovery staffing.
2. Is responsible for technical staff competency by participating in training courses and technical meetings.
3. Maintains regulated operations in keeping with all applicable standards of accreditation and all regulatory requirements.
4. Responsible for training and documentation of recovery personnel.
5. Responsible for continuing education and documentation of recovery personnel.
6. Reviews procedures, reports and activities to insure a high degree of performance.
7. Establishes goals for self and staff; sets performance standards for the Recovery Staff.
- Meets personal and departmental goals while continuously motivating staff to meet goals.
9. Serves as needed to promote a positive employee relations image and public relations image of department/function.
10. Serves as liaison between his/her department/function and other departments/functions of LDSF.
11. Review annual performance evaluations with all Recovery Supervisors and Recovery Coordinators.
12. Manage audits, deviations, CAPA’s and regulatory compliance with QA.
- Sets performance standards for the Procurement Activities function.
14. Maintains Donor Services Foundation position as a leader in the tissue banking field with respect to his/her interactions with Medical Examiner staff, other recovery agencies, or any other related individuals or entities involved in the recovery of tissue and the transplant/research industry.
15. Represents Donor Services Foundation at professional meetings as required.
16. Maintains statistical data for reporting purposes.
17. Works closely with partner organizations to ensure good working relationships and excellence in customer service.
Qualifications
- AS or BS degree in associated health related field with minimum of 3 years of management/leadership experience.
- Responsible leadership experience in OR and/or Recovery environment.
- Current driver’s license required.
- Candidate must have dependable transportation.
- Travel and overnight stays required.
- Demonstrated skills lending attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines including excellent organization and time management skills, ability to multi-task, and to function independently, or within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving, creative-thinking and well-developed personal stress management skills.
- Must always present professional attitude and appearance.
- CTBS preferred or must obtain within two years of employment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish not required but preferred.
Working conditions
- Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens
- Travel to recovery sites: Hospital Operating Rooms, Medical Examiners, Funeral Homes and Recovery Offices (Miami, Jacksonville, Pensacola).
- Overnight travel is required.
- Facility temperature is maintained cool.
