We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, office management skills, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for healthcare providers.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and other correspondence with professionalism.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans as needed.
- Utilize electronic health record systems, Athena Health
- Support the medical team with administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and office management practices is essential.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Athena) is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience with Insurance verifications and prior auths are highly preferred.
