Regional Search Director – Part-Time / Contractor (Nashville, TN)

Identify & Connect with Small Business Owners Who Need a Transition Plan

Legacy of Tennessee is hiring a part-time, contractor-based Regional Search Director to help identify and uncover essential small, family-owned businesses in the Nashville area that are not actively listed for sale but need a transition plan.

We are focused on building a regional network of 3-5 essential businesses within a 100-mile radius of Nashville. These businesses are critical to the local economy and infrastructure, yet many lack a succession plan. Our model is designed to help these owners transition on their terms while keeping their businesses locally operated and positioned for long-term success.

You’ll be joining a team of similar contractors based in North Carolina, Colorado, and Virginia, all working to identify, connect with, and help transition businesses that are critical to local infrastructure.

What You’ll Do in This Role

  • Identify and connect with small, family-owned businesses in Nashville and the surrounding areas that could be strong acquisition opportunities.
  • Find businesses that are not actively listed for sale but may be open to transition if presented with the right opportunity.
  • Use data, research, and industry trends to pinpoint businesses that align with our investment criteria.
  • Build and lead your own team of searchers—collaborating in your free time to source and analyze businesses together.
  • Leverage your career and industry network to access business owners in essential services, industrials, and critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends—particularly in areas like data centers, energy, and industrial services—to spot acquisition opportunities.
  • Engage with local entrepreneurs, business brokers, and industry contacts to build a strong pipeline of potential businesses.
  • Work closely with the Legacy Holdings team to evaluate businesses and ensure they align with our investment strategy.
