Our client is a well-respected law firm in Morristown, New Jersey. It is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the ideal candidate will bring strong communication, analytical, technical, and management skills to the role. This position is critical to ensuring the seamless operation of its accounting and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting operations, including banking, general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, trust accounts, and partner accounting.
- Manage pension plans, annual audits, and Form 5500 filings.
- Prepare and review internal and external financial statements.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Support year-end closing and audit activities.
- Lead and mentor a team of six accounting professionals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Prior experience in a law firm is required.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams.
Salary : $140,000
