Purchasing Coordinator (Contractor)

Legend Biotech is seeking Purchasing Coordinator (Part-Time Contractor) as part of the Global MSAT team based in Somerset, NJ.

Role Overview

This position involves coordinating purchases from various vendors, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The Purchasing Coordinator will collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain operations and provide insights for financial planning and budgeting.

This position will require at least 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating the purchase of supplies from various vendors.
• Ordering, receiving and processing incoming orders for materials, merchandise, or services using SAP.
• Informing end users of order receipt, prices, shipping dates, and delays.
• Generating quotes with suppliers.
• Ensuring that the correct items are received in a timely manner.
• Tracking the supplies storage location.
• Keeping track of inventory levels of different types of materials.
• Coordinating with vendors to ensure goods and materials are delivered on time and at the right cost.
• Advising management on financial planning, investments, reports, and projected budgets.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with biotech materials is a plus.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory management systems.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance and inventory levels.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial planning and budgeting related to procurement.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order processing and inventory management.
