Legend Biotech is seeking Senior Scientist, Molecular Biology and Cell Engineering as part of the Exploratory Technology team based in Philadelphia, PA.

Role Overview

This position will join a new interdisciplinary team focusing on the company’s cell therapy platform development for solid tumor applications.

Qualified candidates should be well versed in molecular and synthetic biology techniques. Hands on experience of genomic engineering on cancer cell, T cell and other immune cell types is required.

The ideal candidate is an energetic thinker/doer/multi-tasker who can drive innovative cell engineering methods for advanced immune cell activation logic control for improved efficacy and safety.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Research. Location: Philadelphia.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering of T cells with viral and advanced genome editing tools.
• Research vector design, construction and virus packaging.
• Develop engineered human and mouse cancer cell line models to support internal discovery effort.
• Gene expression quantitation at RNA and protein level.
• Support various in vitro T cell functional assay.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Scientist
• PhD degree in biological sciences (synthetic biology, molecular biology, cancer biology) or related field is required.
• MS with 4 years of experience.
• BS with 7 years of experience.
• Senior Scientist:
• PhD degree 3-5 years of post-graduate experience.
• MS with 7 years of experience.
• BS with 10 years of experience.
• Experience in T cell genome editing with large fragment knock-in is strongly preferred.
• Experience in flow cytometry and cell sorting is strongly preferred by not required.
• Experience in NGS library prep, QC and sequencing run is a plus.
• Knowledge in transcription regulation/synthetic gene expression regulatory circuit/ kill switch is a strong plus.
