Legend Biotech is seeking Sr. Scientist, Vector Biology as part of the Research and Development team based in Philadelphia, PA.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on work in developing, performing and optimizing lentiviral vector (LVV) production.
- Design and test various LVV payloads for developing chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy.
- Upstream and/or downstream process development using suspension cell culture with scale up in bioreactor
- Works independently in planning, performing, analyzing, reporting and presenting experimental data and future technology transfer
- Supports LVV production for internal research teams
- Prepare all technical reports needed in support of an exploratory project moving to process development.
- Interacts cross-functionally within the process development and analytical organizations, as well as with other departments (regulatory, quality, manufacturing, clinical, supply chain).
Requirements
- BS degree with 4 years; MS degree with 5 years; PhD with minimum 3 years in virology, molecular biology, cell & gene therapy or related field.
- Experience in lentiviral vector production and characterization
- Comfortable in a fast-paced biotech environment and able to adjust workload based upon priorities.
- Strong knowledge & experience in lentiviral vector technology is preferred.
- Ability to think strategically, balance short-term goals and maintain flexibility is preferred.
- Experience in in vivo CAR-T is a plus.
