JOB DESCRIPTION:



JOB SUMMARY: Good entry level position for those desiring an opportunity to train and advance in a Food & Beverage operation. This position requires a good understanding of cleaning restaurant dishes, utensils, china, pots, pans, trays, and heavy duty kitchen equipment as well as kitchen hoods. Operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment and tools; including the dish washing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station and trash containers. Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives and equipment. Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas. This position requires an eye for detail and a self starter.

  • Reports on time, ready to work at station as posted on schedule.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and communicate well with team members and guests.
  • Demonstrate on a daily basis; good personal hygiene while at work station or in front of guests.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with team members and management.
  • Practice safety standards and report any unsafe working conditions to the appropriate F&B Management.
  • Maintain sanitation levels in accordance with Yakama Nation, local and state of WA health department regulations
  • MUST ALWAYS wear protective hot temperature, gloves, goggles, mask, back belt, and non slippery shoes while performing heavy duty cleaning.
  • Ensure full compliance with the department’s IC’s, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Assist in maintenance of temperature and breakage logs by changing the dishwasher machine water at 2 hour intervals or as required.
  • Operate dishwasher machine and maintain for proper operation, including cleaning and draining of machine.
  • Responsible for the ongoing cleaning and proper sanitation of all kitchen work areas, equipment and service ware.
  • Sort all properly washed items.
  • Prepare and load racks properly into the dishwasher machine.
  • Preventative care to minimize breakage/spillage, etc.
  • Ensure compliance to standards set by management in scraping, racking, stacking, and washing of pots, pans, kitchen utensils, china, glassware and silverware.
  • Ensure set up and break down of dishwasher and pot washer; maintains proper temperature, soap and sanitizer solution levels as directed by manufacturer as well as sanitation codes and regulations.
  • Inspect all items washed to ensure cleanliness and rewashing if needed.
  • Able to work at a quick pace to keep up with fluctuating business.
  • Able to recognize soiled and dirty areas needing attention on a constant basis.
  • Responsible to operate machinery and use cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Responsible to stay on duty until all daily task requirements are completed.
  • Keeps floors cleaned and mopped as directed.
  • Use proper etiquette when dealing with guests.
  • Proactively helps guests resolve concerns; particularly when the guest has not been satisfied and strives for win-win resolutions.
  • Models for the team, a strong work ethic and is visible, available and present for the guest and their team.
  • Builds relationships inside and outside of their department/team to improve ways of working and provide a great guest experience.
  • Flexibility is required to work all shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays or when required due to special parties, events, banquets, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

LICENSE REQUIRED: Must obtain and hold a Class II gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.


MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must have valid food handler’s card. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and/or willingness to be trained in this field.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand, sit or walk for more than eight hours, must be able to lift over fifty pounds (50lbs.). Requires ability to lift, carry, push, pull and place light/moderate/heavy items, up to fifty pounds (50lbs.) without assistance. Requires ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds with assistance. The associate is occasionally required to sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing kitchen and hood cleaning. Works in a temperature-controlled kitchen, exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. When on the gaming floor, the noise level increases and there is exposure to a smoke-filled environment.


WORK HAZARDS: Hot surfaces, hot oil, wet floors, greasy floors, heavy lifting, sharp objects or utensils, heavy pots and pans and kitchen noise. Exposed to moderate to heavy duty cleaning chemicals.
