ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform pre-testing procedures such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception tests.
- Conduct specialized testing procedures such as visual field testing, retinal imaging, and corneal topography.
- Prepare patients for examinations by the optometrist, including dilation of pupils.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide instructions on lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear selection based on prescription and lifestyle needs
- Maintains open channels of communication with center administration and other company departments; Answers all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Complies with Leon Medical Centers’ policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Assist with patient history taking and documenting relevant information in medical records.
QUALIFICATIONS
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one (1) of experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role is preferred.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certification or training in optometry is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluent in English and Spanish.
