FINANCIAL ANALYST - Sacramento, CA
The Lewis Group of Companies, one of the largest privately owned real estate developers in the nation, is actively seeking a Financial Analyst for its fast-growing Northern California Planned Communities Division located in Sacramento, CA.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Analyst to oversee all aspects of the financial administration for the Division in a fast-paced, and project-driven environment. This position is full time “in-office” and reports to the Senior Vice President/Regional Manager of Planned Community Development.
Some of your Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively work with project managers in the preparation and upkeep of budget forecasts and long-term financial planning with the appropriate confidence and assertiveness necessary gathering data essential to performing these functions properly.
• Monitor project schedules to ensure consistency with financial projections and reporting and support the corporate accounting team in their preparation of project cost reports and cost of sale analysis.
• Assist with cost control, variance analysis and reconciliation of overall project pro forma projections to regular budget updates and cost coding.
• Support project managers in the formation and administration of infrastructure financing districts and the administration of agency and private party reimbursements and payables.
• Support the acquisition team by importing financial data from current and past projects and otherwise support this team in developing cost, revenue and timing assumptions for the underwriting of new opportunities.
• The willingness and enthusiasm to learn and maintain knowledge of day-to-day aspects of our business (i.e. acquisition, land use entitlement, development and disposition) will be essential to success in this position.
Qualifications to help you succeed:
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree preferably with a concentration in finance, accounting or business administration. An MBA, CFA and/or real estate license is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management within the real estate development, homebuilding, or construction industry is highly preferred.
• Experience in real estate financial operations, including financing, property valuation, and real estate investments analysis is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and basic financial math concepts and applications is a must.
• Experience with TM1, PowerB1, or other similar integrated software is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to prepare and present complex financial data clearly and concisely.
