Duties

  • Conduct orientations of prospective program participants as required by HUD and Lewiston Housing policies.
  • Issue necessary paperwork to applicants, relative to the voucher programs.
  • Coordinate with housing inspector for pre-occupancy and annual inspections.
  • Run a listing for recertifications due for the following months’ reviews.
  • Responsible for the accurate calculations of new contracts, annual reviews, interim rent adjustments for Housing Choice Voucher program.
  • Responsible for preparing leases, contracts & lease extensions, and other documents relative to this program and obtaining all necessary signatures for these said documents.
  • Run monthly register.
  • By allocation, get a total of each bedroom size from above register.
  • Set up appointments for recertifications each month, coordinating with the housing inspector.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance of all files and records relative to the Housing Choice Voucher Program, incoming and outgoing portable certificates, and vouchers.
  • Responsible for billing initial housing authorities in a timely manner, for incoming certificates and vouchers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to carry effective communication and good working relationship with other Lewiston Housing Personnel.
  • Ability to communicate and deal with effectively, both orally and in writing, with people who fall into a diversified range, i.e., age, background, personality, and economic circumstance.
  • Ability to accept and implement changes as they occur, i.e., regulations, policies, organizational, etc.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of Lewiston Housing/HUD and local regulations, policies, and procedures which effect eligibility and occupancy in local publicly assisted housing programs and to apply and communicate same to others.
  • Ability to express clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to make accurate mathematical computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret written material and instructions.
  • Ability to plan and schedule time well.
  • Ability to drive and provide own work-related transportation.
  • Skill in typing with accuracy.
  • Ability to use calculator, copying machine, and computer terminal.
  • Multilingual preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible to changes in work schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.33 - $23.81 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
