LG Chem is investing billions of dollars to expand our operations and footprint in the US. We have dedicated $3B to build a new manufacturing facility in Clarksville, TN, which will produce cathode materials for batteries for EV’s. This is one of the largest investments in recent years and with this comes the need to add highly skilled and experienced employees to our local team.
We are actively searching for a Human Resources Manager who will provide a full range of HR functions to support the day to day operations and establish the necessary standard operating procedures to align with federal, state and local laws. This is a Long-Term Contractor role with the potential to become a full-time permanent position for the right candidate. The successful incumbent will be a full cycle generalist with well-rounded HR functional experience within a manufacturing setting and knowledgeable about employee relations, recruiting, payroll, new hire orientation, and coaching supervisors and managers. Qualified candidates will have experience with all phases, construction to live production, for a new manufacturing plant or mill. To be successful, the ideal HR Manager is someone who thrives in a dynamic and multi-cultural organization where creating new and best practices are encouraged. This position is based on-site in Clarksville, TN.
Responsibilities
- Create and develop job descriptions and job specifications for all positions in the plant facility
- Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
- Analyze and update the initial workforce plans for the new plant
- Implement all phases of the recruitment process.
- Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary slips and warning letters
- Job postings, Sourcing, Pre-screening, Scheduling interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Implements new hire orientation
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to recruiting activities and tasks directed by supervisors
Experience Requirements / Competencies
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- 5 years of experience as a recruiter or Human Resources Generalist working in start-up manufacturing environment required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
