LG Chem is actively searching for an individual interested in a career in Procurement. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the business from the ground up to gain experience in ERP systems, Requests for Quotation, Vendor Management, Contract and Price negotiations, Demand and Supply analysis, Inventory Tracking and other responsibilities. In this role, you will work closely with procurement team members in the US and Korea. This requires an individual bilingual in Korean / English and is based full time Ravenna, OH.
What You'll Be Doing
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to) :
- Management of the regulation related to chemical substances.
- Calculate the quantity of product to purchase depending on supply and demand plan.
- Procure raw materials, service for maintenance, and equipment in accordance with the procurement procedure of LG Chem.
- Perform Request for Quotation (RFQ's), issue Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and Commercial Bid Evaluations (CBE). Prepare Purchase Orders (PO) with price negotiation and final contracts with vendors.
- Identify new suppliers and alternatives for discontinued materials.
- Manage the raw material inventory to high standards of data integrity and continually work to improve the department.
- Oversee the storeroom, produce replenishment reports, conduct obsolete parts removal, perform turnover rate analysis, process cycle counting, min / max adjustments, and parts kitting.
- Monitor overall procurement progress, payment transaction and manage SAP data related to procurement.
- Collaborate with local and corporate departments such as Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Care, as well as other corporate functions such as Credit, Procurement, Regulatory and Legal.
- Participate with managers to establish corporate strategic plans and goals.
- Provide regulatory support and service to LG Chem headquarters by reporting the spending data, the market price, and progressive related to procurement work.
- Use SAP system for Procurement process, Functional Location Management, storeroom functions, and maintenance planning functions.
- The majority of raw materials are imported from Korea and this role requires frequent communication with LG Chem team members in manufacturing sites in Korea as well as HQ.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience : What We're Looking For
Education : Bachelor's degree required with preferrance in Science , Technology , Engineering , or Mathematics.
Language : Korean Language required. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and Korean fluently to quickly and accurately communicate crucial information with exclusive / primarily Korean-Speaking global business partners.
