Job description
Position Title – Superintendent
Job Requirements
- Complete and thorough understanding of all contractual specifications and drawings.
- Possess exceptional communication and organizational skills. Superintendent will be coordinating the daily activities of subcontractors and suppliers.
- 10 Years’ experience on similar projects ($10M – $50M)
- USACE experience or relevant government experience
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50 pounds regularly/occasionally.
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to walk for most of the time at the job. The job requires frequent movement between Concourse A, B and C of McNamara Terminal.
- Must be able to perform occasional night shifts, twice or thrice a month for materials deliveries (09:00 pm to 3:00 am)
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities of trades on job site. Superintendent confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures.
- Prepares daily report for tracking crew sizes, work completed, weather, delays, and other situations on-site that must be documented.
- Receives daily deports from subcontractors working on-site. Review information for accuracy and use this information in preparing daily report.
- Maintain and update as-built drawings for the project as required by the contract.
- Responsible for scheduling subcontractors, delivery of material, and procurement of tools to job site. This task completed in conjunction with the project schedule to ensure the job completes on-time.
- Assist the Quality Control Manager (QCM) on preparatory meetings with subcontractors and clients before starting any definable feature of work on a job site.
- Confer with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Review schedule with QCM to ensure the project stays on target. Work with subcontractors and QCM to implement recovery methods if needed to stay on schedule.
- Assist in ensuring all safety measures are enforced on the job site. Will also function as a safety officer on the project when required.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly invoices to the client.
- Assist with the review of invoices from subcontractors and suppliers.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
