Cost Analyst

Role Overview:

Responsible for providing financial support and analysis across the entire organization with an emphasis on cost accounting concepts and activities within manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:

• Establish working relationship with operation personnel. Provide clear, concise financial data and explain results and financial drivers. Aide in the operational understanding of financial results within their responsibilities.
• Prepare financial models and reports for management and other leaders.
• Calculate and analyze breakeven points by plant and product.
• Create, validate and support manufacturing KPI’s.
• Analyze capital project requests for compliance with corporate policy including ROI justification.
• Research inventory transactions to validate accuracy.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs, comparing to budgets and historical results. Effectively communicate findings.
• Analyze operating costs to identify trends. Look for cost saving initiatives. Devise and coordinate plans to reduce costs.
• Analyze, initiate, and implement best practices and procedures. Identify and eliminate manual processes.
• Establish financial controls. Develop, test and initiate strategies for auditing and testing of programs and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide cost accounting assistance as necessary.
• Leverage business intelligence tools (BI) to effectively help in day-to-day management.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects/assignments in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Demonstrate expertise in resolving complex accounting issues and identifying accounting errors and discrepancies.
• Coordinate and collaborate with business units to understand end-user needs and requirements.
