Job Summary:
Join our team as a Certified Peer Specialist and make a positive impact on individuals in need. We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Responsibilities:
- Engage with individuals in a peer-to-peer capacity to provide support and encouragement
- Utilize your expertise in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, social work, mentoring, crisis management, systems, behavioral health, and motivational interviewing to assist individuals in their recovery journey
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the healthcare system
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records according to established guidelines
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge
Experience:
- Possess certification as a Certified Peer Specialist Required - Highschool Diploma Required
- Previous experience in a similar role is Required

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Strong understanding of mental health challenges
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team - Must have reliable transportation
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion towards individuals facing mental health issues
Things to keep in mind:
- This is intensive community-based work
- Based Starting Pay is $18.00 an hour for Certified Peer Support Specialist
-It is a non-paid Orientation/Training for 1 day (MANDATORY)
- We DO NOT pay for mileage
