What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist position at LIBERTY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?
Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist. Applicants should have some accounting knowledge through completed educational courses taken or job experience. Basic knowledge of Excel is required, and advanced knowledge is preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate superior organizational, technical and time management skills as well as be detail oriented. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations daily
- Balance ATM Cash GLs daily and prepare monthly reconciliations
- Reconcile general ledgers to trial balance reports daily and research all differences
- Reconcile and review internal accounts
- Assist and backup debit and credit card balancing
- Backup various other balancing and reconciliation tasks within the department as needed
- Develop a working knowledge of the credit union’s DNA system and FAS accounting system as it applies to your specific job duties
- Develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, by-laws, and operational procedures
- Any other duties assigned by management
