Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking a Mortgage Lending Training Specialist to meet departmental and strategic planning goals. The successful candidate must demonstrate a professional, courteous, motivated demeanor with a positive attitude and creative abilities. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be willing to travel on an as-needed basis to all office locations to provide ongoing coaching and sales training as a continued effort to develop the Mortgage staff. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as a trainer for all mortgage roles which currently includes mortgage originators, disclosure desk, processing assistants, processors, setup, underwriting, closing, and servicing.
- Facilitate ongoing 30-day refresher training sessions for all new staff. This could include travel to the employee's office, main office training, or Teams training sessions. Ability to work with management to schedule and decipher the needs of the employee at the time of refresher training.
- Travel to branches in and outside of the Evansville region for ongoing coaching and sales training which could require overnight stay in these areas.
- Aid in implementation and follow up on new initiatives being launched with LFCU, the mortgage department, or the training department.
- Possess a general understanding of the mortgage operation and sales process with a desire to continue learning.
- Serve as support to staff in the Mortgage Department. This consists of assisting with questions regarding conventional and government loan programs, software and programming questions, compliance questions, and scenario review. Ability to prioritize questions as they may come in the form of support tickets, emails, Teams messages, or phone calls.
- Maintain a working knowledge of secondary market underwriting guidelines and LFCU loan policies to assist staff with questions submitted to the help-desk email groups.
- Assist with maintaining and updating all training materials for all mortgage positions, programs and procedures. This currently includes updating the Loan Officer Manual, Processing Manual, and Closing Manuals currently available on Askmax, as well as updating specific articles and materials for areas within the mortgage department that do not currently have a specific manual on Askmax.
- Assist with updating non-mortgage related items in Askmax when time allows. This could include updating employee names, titles, org chart updates, etc.
- Ability to setup new employees in the systems required for their position.
- Maintain a knowledge of changing regulation requirements via seminars, webinars, articles, and other publications. Ability to aid when these changing regulations require additional training, materials, and updates to Askmax.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the DNA core processing system, Encompass, Total Expert, nCino, Engageware, and BAI.
- Develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures.
- Demonstrate a professional, courteous, and motivated demeanor with a positive attitude.
- Generate ideas to implement fun and excitement into the learning process.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Possess a general knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with a desire to increase knowledge to create training materials for staff.
- Adhere to the credit union’s S.E.R.V.I.C.E. standards.
- Any other duties assigned by my supervisor or management.
