Description:
The role of the Perinatal Nurse Navigator is to support women while they learn to self-navigate their health care and the healthcare of their baby. The Perinatal Nurse Navigator develops a trusting relationship with their patients throughout their pregnancy, during and after delivery, and continues through the newborn’s first year of life. Barriers to health care for the mother and baby will be reduced when the Perinatal Nurse Navigator partners with the health care team and facilitates connections with community resources. The reduction of patient specific barriers improves the health outcomes for the mother and the baby.
Must have 2-3 years of L&D or M/B/SCN experience.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing program
- BSN required
- Maintain registered nursing licensure in the state of Ohio
- Maternal/child related certifications are required
- Maintain all LMHS qualifications
- Minimum three years of Labor/Delivery, Maternal/Child or related clinical experience required
- Knowledge of LMHS obstetrical/pediatric care team protocols
- Knowledge of community resources
- IBCLC or working towards IBCLC
