Life Enrichment Academy (LEA) is looking for YOU! We have positions open for Community Skills Specialist who are looking to be responsible for Individuals Served in a vocational and community setting.
LEA's Community Skills Specialist will be have the following daily job functions (plus more):
- Interact with Individuals Served, parents, guardians, supervisors, visitors, community members, business partners, and funding sources in a positive professional manner.
- Train Individuals Served providing reinforcement when appropriate, in order to increase their independence.
- Schedule vocational work assignments and complete appropriate documentation.
- Complete daily documentation (goals, incident reports, Individuals Served, payroll, billing, progress notes, attendance, etc.) in accordance with regulations as outlined by Medicaid, Funding Source, Department of Labor, etc.
- Schedules and completes community integrated programming with Individuals Served including transportation and appropriate documentation.
- Assist individuals with meals, hygiene and supports in accordance with person centered plans and plan of service.
- Prepare and pass medication and document as required.
- Complete annual assessments/reports and actively participate in the plan of service meeting as required.
- Attend and actively participate in training sessions, staff meetings and in-services.
- Adhere to corporate health and safety guidelines ensuring a safe and secure environment for persons served and co-workers.
- Act as Liaison between Life Enrichment Academy and Employment Partners.
Our Life Skills Coach must be able to lift, push, pull, support a minimum of 25lbs. Along with being able to do pro-longed sitting, standing, walking for 8 hour shift. And must be able to drive in community integrated responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS (but not limited too):
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience working with developmentally disabled adults
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License, Chauffer’s License preferred
- Proficient in MSOffice
- Successful completion of the post offer process, including criminal background check and clearance from the Office of Recipient Rights
- Completion of all required training in the specified timeframe
Job Type: Full-time
