Life-Science Innovations is seeking a full time Staff Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring the company’s adherence to tax regulations and maintaining compliance with federal and state tax requirements. This role involves collaborating with our CPA firm and management to accurately prepare and file tax returns, manage overall tax compliance, and proactively identify potential tax issues. The Staff Accountant will also assist the corporate accounting team by preparing and reviewing financial documents, reports, and statements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Tax responsibilities:
- Collect and organize company and shareholder tax information
- Prepare and maintain workpapers and shareholder schedules
- Reconcile tax payments with shareholders and manage tax notices with CPA firm
- Update taxable income projections and analyze changes with management
- Process quarterly estimate payments and calculate tax distribution allocation
- Oversee year-end tax planning and communication
- Respond to inquiries from management, CPA firm, and shareholders
- Maintain and provide quarterly tax estimate information to shareholders
- Monitor and communicate updates on new tax regulations
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
- Organize company documents as it pertains to record retention policies.
- Maintain the calendar for compliance and reporting
- Manage sales and use tax filings
- Review annual 1099 filings
- Maintain company ownership records and filings, including officer and director listings, stock ledgers, and shareholder addresses
- Assist with corporate accounting and keep other corporate records up to date as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax compliance or accounting
- Understanding of individual, corporate, and partnership tax laws and compliance
- Familiarity with tax codes, compliance procedures, and regulations for corporations
- Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements
- Experience with tax software and tools
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a focus on accuracy and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and maintain confidentiality
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Capable of managing multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates core values and effectively interacts with all organizational levels
