What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Life Time?
Position Summary
The Payroll Specialist compiles and enters data to be processed in the payroll runs. They partner with HR and Benefits to ensure employees are paid correctly. They collect information from time keeping system to calculate pay. The Payroll Specialist partners with compensation teams to research commission based inquiries and works with ADP to resolve garnishment issues and inquiries.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Processes bi-weekly payrolls by preparing computer input forms, entering data regarding wages and deductions, and posting to payroll records
- Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
- Research and Provide documentation for legal department
- Researches and responds to employee payroll inquires
- Partner with HR and Benefits to ensure employee issues are resolved timely
- Researches and responds to garnishment inquiries
- Analyzes and audits financial reports and payroll deductions
- Assists clubs with monthly revenue payroll reports
- Reviews banking files to ensure accuracy and success of transmission
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of payroll experience
- Ability to meet weekend commitments based on deadlines
- Excellent organization and spreadsheet skills
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field
- Certified Payroll Professional
- Fundamental Payroll Certification
- 2 or more years high volume payroll experience
