Lifebanc, is the federally designated organ, eye and tissue recovery organization that serves 20 counties in Northeast Ohio. Put simply, we facilitate and coordinate organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation in our community and educate the public on the importance of our mission. Position Description:
This position is responsible for supporting the overall goals and objectives of the Finance Department through the performance of duties in all areas of finance and payroll.
Essential Functions:
Accounts Payable:
- Ensures accuracy of invoices processed in the weekly batches produced by the accounting coordinators.
- Posts invoice batches into the accounts payable system for the check batch run by the Sr. Director of Finance.
- Assist in training on proper accounts payable procedures.
- Assist in auditing accounts payable workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards.
Accounts Receivable:
- Ensures accuracy of invoices processed in the weekly batches produced by the accounting coordinators.
- Posts invoice batches into the accounts receivable system after approval by the Sr. Director of Finance.
- Assist in training on proper accounts receivable procedures.
- Assist in auditing accounts receivable workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards.
Cash Management:
- Prepares bank deposits for all Lifebanc cash accounts and takes deposits to the bank.
- Ensures all daily cash activity are entered into Great Plains.
- Follows up with customers on any discrepancies.
- Ensures requested transfers by the Sr. Director of Finance are completed timely.
- Prepare bank statements for all Lifebanc cash accounts for approval by the Sr. Director of Finance.
Month End Close:
- Review all balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
- Prepare and validate proof of revenue.
- Prepare and validate statistics.
- Assist accounting coordinators in meeting required deadlines.
- Assist with financial reporting preparation.
Year End Close:
- Review all balance sheet accounts for accuracy and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and validate proof of revenue.
- Prepare and validate statistics.
- Assist accounting coordinators in meeting required deadlines.
- Assist with audit preparation.
Administers the bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Reviews electronic timesheets for accuracy and completeness and resolves any discrepancies.
- Gathers and inputs information for bi-weekly processing.
- Compiles and enters payroll journal entries and runs payroll reports for management.
- Enters employee contributions into 401K and HSA portals.
- Administers PTO buyout, longevity and incentive payouts.
Various functions:
- Maintains donor numbers and organ/tissue counts in Great Plains.
- Maintains the monthly journal entry records.
- Assist in improving accounting procedures, internal controls and database management.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum five years’ experience in accounting.
- Solid understanding of accounting software with specific knowledge related to accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, ensuring work is performed in the most efficient manner and that deadlines are met.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of financial and personnel related information.
