What you’ll do:
The Cerner Clinical Informatics (CI) Trainer is the thought-leader and resource for clinicians using clinical technology within various care settings. This role uses clinical, computer, and information science to lead the activities inherent in the integration of clinical technology into clinical workflow and care processes. The CI has responsibility for functional leadership and day-to-day operational and training support of the clinical information systems (CIS) and other technologies utilized in the care of patients. This position serves as the liaison between system functionality, patient care disciplines and practice, and the IT department as it relates to CIS. Primary job functions include education of clinical end users, support of specialty workflows, identification and mitigation of barriers to the adoption of clinical technology and leveraging clinical technology to advocate for best practice clinical care. This position will report to the AVP Clinical Systems for the Rehabilitation and Behavioral Health Division.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership in the development of competencies, education and training of clinical end-users (including nursing, therapies and ancillary staff).
- Provides a clinical voice in technology-focused discussions within the Rehabilitation and Behavioral Health divisions.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to adherence of clinical best practice.
- Embraces and promotes the use of clinical technology within patient care. Uses observation and feedback from all stakeholders to improve processes and optimize clinical systems to meet the values, vision, and mission of the organization.
- Plays an active and collaborative role as a team member for multiple concurrent projects and work activities. Communicates proactively and constructively with all key stakeholders.
- Responds with flexibility to changing workload, priorities, and assignments. Demonstrates ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, seek and adhere to guidance, and chose an appropriate course of action.

- Coordinates training for facility staff and physicians regarding clinical technology and maintains up-to-date documentation.
- Develops informatics expertise and competency, taking advantage of formal and informal development opportunities regarding the practice specialty of informatics.
- Establishes and maintains strong professional relationships through internal and external networking.
- Approximately 60-70% travel

Qualifications
What you’ll need:
Experience:
- Extensive background in EHR utilization including specific use of Oracle Cerner (proficiency to be reviewed during onboarding process).
- 5-7 years of clinical experience in multiple care settings (ambulatory, acute, specialty care).
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of the role of evidence based. medicine, clinical processes and regulatory standards in the use of clinical technology.
- EHR implementation and sustainment experience preferred (previous Super User/Clinical Staff Educator a plus).
- Certification in Clinical Informatics desired.
- Experienced clinician with current licensure/certification in preferred area of specialty (RN, LVN, RT, etc), with preference given to RN credentials.
Education:
- Relevant Bachelor and/or master's degree desirable.
