Organ Preservation Specialist (night shift)

LifeSource is hiring a Preservation Specialist to collaborate with external and internal partners during organ recovery for donation opportunities and facilitate the coordination of donor recovery events by providing organ preservation, packaging, and delivery services. They will help execute and monitor mechanical preservation of organs by positioning cannula and placement of transplantable organs on a mechanical perfusion device using sterile technique to optimize organ acceptance. Provide prompt, professional, and effective service to partners and customers to meet requirements and enhance relationships.

As a Preservation Specialist, you'll advance our life-saving work by performing the following job responsibilities:

• Independently facilitate and coordinate preservation and packaging for organ donation cases.
• Facilitate preservation, monitoring, and packaging of organs for transplantation or research, in accordance with requirements.
• Assemble, package, and transport preservation supplies and equipment to donation site.
• Prepare surgical environment for organ preservation, executing sterile technique by scrubbing in to prepare sterile supplies, preparing organ pumps, and packaging materials.
• Optimize organ acceptance by monitoring and adjusting mechanical preservation.
• Complete post-case activities including organ delivery, documentation, terminal cleaning, and restocking.
• Track, stock, and maintain the cleanliness and orderly manner of the clinical area, surgical preservation supply rooms, and organ pump room.
• Actively maintain and troubleshoot preservation and histological equipment, in collaboration with internal and external partners, ensure communication, reporting of issues and concerns, and resolution.

Schedule:

• This is a .9 FTE role (based on three 12 hour shifts per week). Hours: 8p-830a (night). Requires a variable remote and in-office blended schedule which includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to adjust schedule to accommodate organizational needs.
• Must be able to report onsite within one-hour of notification.
• Overtime may be appropriate to meet organizational needs.
• Training: initial training will be 8a-5p (approximately 2-4 weeks) for onsite and clinical training.
• Travel expectations: local and regional within the service area by ground or air. Must have valid driver's license.

Projected offer range: $27-30/hour, depending on relevant professional experience.
