Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physical Education (preferred).
- International and/or independent school teaching experience.
- At least three years of teaching Physical Education.
- Proven coaching/playing experience at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
- Proficiency in English and/or French. Native-level fluency preferred
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Positivity, open-mindedness, and adaptability to a multicultural environment.
- Competency in developing and evaluating sports programs.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Teaching and Coaching:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons following the TEKS or AEFE curriculum guidelines.
- Provide instruction in various sports techniques and strategies.
- Inspire and motivate students with a passion for physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Conduct and organize practices, matches, and competitive events.
- Always promote exceptional sportsmanship and model professional behavior.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop individualized lesson plans that align with school curriculum.
- Monitor, assess, and communicate student progress to families on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the after-school sports program expansion.
- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Participate in faculty, departmental, and curriculum meetings as scheduled by the Head of School.
- Contribute to school-wide events such as open houses, parent meetings, field trips, fairs, and festivals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational experience.
- Fulfill weekly duties such as supervising carpool, recess, and lunch, as well as assisting with after-school activities.
- Physically monitor student discipline and ensure their well-being during activities.
- Ability to demonstrate athletic skills and perform sports-related activities.
- Capability to move freely in a classroom or athletic field setting to facilitate group and individual instruction.
- Knowledge of current trends in sports education and techniques.
- High level of energy, creativity, and commitment to student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
- Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- May require mandatory evenings or weekends for competitions and school events.
