The Lycée International de Houston, LIH, was established in 2017 by passionate individuals from different cultural backgrounds and founders who recognized the need for a bilingual school in the Houston community. Their goal was to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in an ever-growing multicultural global society. As the sole accredited 18-month through 12th-grade bilingual school in Houston, the Lycée International de Houston offers a unique dual-language immersion program in both French and English. By combining the analytical thinking methods of the French Ministry of Education (AEFE) with the dynamic American Curriculum, the school remains dedicated to maintaining academic excellence. The Lycée International de Houston has obtained accreditations by esteemed organizations such as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization, the French Ministry of Education, and Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS). Additionally, our school is affiliated with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE).

Lycée International de Houston is seeking a Physical Education Teacher / Sports Coach to join our bilingual school for the 2025-2026 academic year. We are looking for an energetic and passionate individual who embodies excellence, rigor, and kindness—core values at Lycée International de Houston. Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physical Education (preferred).
• International and/or independent school teaching experience.
• At least three years of teaching Physical Education.
• Proven coaching/playing experience at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
• Proficiency in English and/or French. Native-level fluency preferred
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Positivity, open-mindedness, and adaptability to a multicultural environment.
• Competency in developing and evaluating sports programs.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
  
  

Responsibilities

Teaching and Coaching:

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons following the TEKS or AEFE curriculum guidelines.
• Provide instruction in various sports techniques and strategies.
• Inspire and motivate students with a passion for physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth.
• Conduct and organize practices, matches, and competitive events.
• Always promote exceptional sportsmanship and model professional behavior.
  
  

Classroom And Athletic Program Development

• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Develop individualized lesson plans that align with school curriculum.
• Monitor, assess, and communicate student progress to families on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the after-school sports program expansion.
• Strong classroom management abilities.
  
  

Community And Team Engagement

• Participate in faculty, departmental, and curriculum meetings as scheduled by the Head of School.
• Contribute to school-wide events such as open houses, parent meetings, field trips, fairs, and festivals.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational experience.
  
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Fulfill weekly duties such as supervising carpool, recess, and lunch, as well as assisting with after-school activities.
• Physically monitor student discipline and ensure their well-being during activities.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate athletic skills and perform sports-related activities.
• Capability to move freely in a classroom or athletic field setting to facilitate group and individual instruction.

Work Schedule

• Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
