What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Clinical Informatics Specialist-ORM - MIS - Development position at Lima Memorial Health System?
Functioning within the Health Systems mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Clinical Informatics Specialist, in conjunction with the clinical informatics team and development analysts, is responsible for assuring the overall successful use of information technology to optimize patient care delivery in collaboration with operational leaders and clinical staff. Participates in and contributes to the management and processing of data, information and knowledge of clinical informatics. Assists with analysis and design of processes related to development, implementation and optimization of electronic data systems. Serves as a professional clinical liaison to all areas impacted by clinical documentation and data management. Through familiarity with the function and process of the practices, this position will lead the analysis, design, implementation and education of the providers, nurses, and other clinical staff for the use of the Surgery EMR applications at LMHS while working to maintain and/or improve patient safety and clinical workflow. Additionally, this position is responsible for oversight of process re-design and Surgery EMR re-design in order to support the application rollout and ongoing support of the provider and clinical support practice staff with electronic documentation. Cross training with all Informatics Specialist roles is required.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Candidates without a BSN must be willing to obtain BSN within three years of hire.
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid, unrestricted RN license with the Ohio Board of Nursing
Experience: A minimum of one year Surgery experience is required. Experience with building dictionaries and functionality in the current Surgery preferred.
Skills: Ability to work with a variety of departments and diverse stakeholders is required. Must be analytical,
resourceful, detail-oriented, organized, quick and adaptable and possess strong communication and negotiation
skills.Must be able to juggle competing demands and deal with interruptions.
