OPEN POSITION: DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION
START DATE: 2025-2026 School Year - July 1, 2025
STARTING SALARY: $84,002
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Director of Transportation is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all transportation services within the school district, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for student transportation. This position involves managing the logistics of bus routes, vehicle maintenance, and staff while solving complex operational challenges in real-time. The Director will coordinate with district leadership, staff, parents, and external partners to ensure smooth transportation operations and uphold high standards of safety and service. Strong problem-solving, logistics, and strategic planning skills are critical to the success of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Transportation Management, Logistics, Education or Business Administration, or a related field required. Some college coursework is preferred. Graduate study in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation management or other related management and/or logistics, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience required. Experience in school district transportation or public transportation is preferred. Supervisory experience in managing staff performance and operations. Experience in problem-solving logistics and optimizing routes is preferred.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license required, with reliable transportation to travel throughout the district and surrounding areas. Class B License with appropriate endorsements may be required.
