Lindau Chemicals, Inc. is a specialty organic chemical manufacturer was started in Columbia, SC in 1967. The primary products produced are curing agents for epoxy resins and paint resins used in concrete and masonry coatings. The curing agents are used to manufacture composite materials, electrical and electronic components, and many other products. We are currently looking for a Quality Control Lab Technician.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for research and development of new products or processes, quality control, and maintenance of environmental standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor product processing and product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Compile, interpret and record results of tests and analyses.
- Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as gas chromatography, spectroscopy, physical or chemical separation techniques, or microscopy using written or supervisor’s instructions.
- Provide technical support or assistance to chemists or engineers in performing qualitative or quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, or gaseous materials.
- Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs or teams and by conducting laboratory or plant safety audits.
- Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or supervisor’s instructions.
- Assist in certain plant raw material handling.
- Maintain and clean laboratory instruments or equipment.
- Prepare and package product and other samples following specific regulatory directions.
- Inspect shipping containers and perform shipping inspections.
- Maintain assigned inventories.
