Lifeguard Instructor - LGI
General Duties:
Under the close supervision of the Aquatics, the Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) will plan and operate Lifeguard certification programs and classes at the Aquatics Center.
Essential Job Functions:
Plan, organize, and run the American Red Cross Lifeguard certification programs that fits to a variety of different participants
Greet members, have an upbeat positive attitude, be motivated and energetic, teach and build skills, water safety topics, Lifeguard skills, etc.
Help each individual work to pass the certification class and receive their LG certification
Work with management to ensure proper equipment is provide for the class
Additionally, employees will be required to assist staff and perform other related work duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 17 years old to apply
Hold a current American Red Cross LGI certification
Experience:
Must have communication skills to communicate effectively and efficiently with the participants and other water fitness teaching experience.
Taught at least one Lifeguard Certification course
Preferred Experience:
Having taught multiple LG classes is preferred.
Schedule:
This position works a variety of different times and schedule will be determined upon hiring. Evenings, weekends, and holidays may be included.
