Hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
29.64 - $37.02 / hour (hiring range $29.64 - $31.14)
INTERNAL CANDIDATES : Employees who have been in their current position for at least one year may apply for this position.
Under the direction of the Finance Manager, this position performs a variety of accounting processing and financial recordkeeping functions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other areas of fiscal accounting as assigned.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Process accounts payable weekly or as assigned; check invoices for proper documentation including authorizing signatures, account numbers, requisitions, purchase orders, and other data; verify data against vendor statements; check quantities, extensions, and tax calculations; process payments and file documentation according to established policies and procedures. Scan accounts payable documentation into digital file retention.
Balance vendor statements, ensuring all invoices are received and paid.
Track invoices without sales tax; perform audit function for quarterly sales tax reports.
Track, reconcile, approve, and pay P-Card statements on a monthly basis for all employees who retain P-Cards (approximately 40 cards).
Reconcile checkbooks, travel accounts, petty cash, ATM, and fare accounts. Must be able to work closely with staff members to obtain proper documentation and resolve issues related to purchases.
Audit and track core charges and returns with the weekly accounts payable run.
Create requisitions as needed.
Assist with Records Retention for Finance Department.
Assist the Finance Manager, Accountant, and other agency managers with special projects and financial recordkeeping as required.
Prepare and maintain records and reports related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Communicate with agency personnel and administrators to obtain and provide information and resolve financial recordkeeping issues and discrepancies.
Perform a variety of general clerical duties including typing, filing, and answering telephones to support the department.
Check incoming mail daily and ensure timely distribution to relevant departments or individuals.
Operate a personal computer, calculator, copier, and other office equipment.

Work Environment :
Duties are primarily performed inside while standing or sitting at a desk or computer terminal. Duties include counting fares or writing orders. This position may also travel around the two-county service area to make deposits. Such positions are also exposed to noise from traffic.
Physical Demands :
Essential functions require the ability to see to read fine print, hear to receive information in person or on the telephone, speak clearly and distinctly to provide information, sit at a desk or computer for extended periods of time, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
