Links Technology is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer III to join our client's team in Vandalia, OH. Our client is a leading aerospace and defense firm. This is a Six-month contract role offering the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge aerospace and defense technologies.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer III:
- The Electrical Engineer will serve as an instrumentation specialist responsible for designing and integrating with aircraft systems, mechanical or electrical, as needed to support the collection of data for FAA/MIL certification requirements
- The role will require maintaining NIST standards for calibration and verification of the measurements, documenting and controlling all calibrations, and supporting all hardware/software requirements both for the data acquisition systems and the IADS real-time display
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate instrumentation requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Responsible for developing, modifying and implementing standard operating procedures for hardware and system design
- Initiate problem solving for new product designs and as well as existing products
- Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with customer quality, cost and schedule requirements
- Participate in design integration with customer requirements and industry standards
- Maintains logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment
- Act as a technical liaison to the Engineering Manager
Qualifications of the Electrical Engineer III:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is typically required
- Experience designing and integrating instrumentation systems for aircraft
- Knowledge of telemetry systems
- Ability to perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, and CAN bus protocols.
- Experience maintaining NIST standards for calibration and verification of measurements.
- Ability to document and control all calibrations.
- Experience supporting hardware and software requirements for data acquisition systems and real-time displays (IADS)
- Proficiency in electrical design and schematic development
- Experience with circuit card and circuit board
- Familiarity with FAA/MIL certification requirements.
