What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookstore Aide WS, Student position at Linn-Benton Community College?
The Retail Specialist work study position will assist the Campus Store team with the daily operations. They will work independently assisting customers, cashiering, maintaining a well stocked and clean salesfloor as well as other duties as assigned. The Retail Specialist will provide excellent customer service with a friendly and positive attitude. This position requires attention to detail, communication skills, punctuality and flexibility.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Must maintain enrollment in at least six (6) credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better (some positions may require a higher GPA), and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College
Knowledge and Skills:
- All tasks must be done with a positive attitude and efficiency.
- Looking for people with a willingness to learn and help.
- Position requires attention to detail, mathematical and filing skills.
- Cashiering experience preferred but not required.
- A positive attitude and great communication skills.
Abilities:
- Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others.
- Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Position involves periods of extended standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting and carrying light to medium weight (10-50 lbs.).
- Point of customer interactions including but not limited to cashiering, assist customers in locating textbooks, supplies, clothing, and other merchandise.
- Provide customer assistance in taking special orders.
- Assist in receiving, stocking, facing, and rotating all merchandise.
- Process mail orders to include; pulling and packaging textbooks and store merchandise.
- Involved in the development and execution of exciting store retail displays and the front window display.
- Make Store deliveries on campus.
- Assists with the student buyback and textbook return processing.
