Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities, student workers will perform a variety of
general clerical duties in support of the Facilities Department. Assist in sorting, organizing and
displaying surplus items available for the college community. Pick up and deliver surplus on campus. Perform light cleaning of the surplus store room. Provide descriptions and photos of surplus items to post for sale on different selling platforms.

Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
- Requires the ability to perform the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Must have good attention to detail.
- Must be able to operate a keyboard, computer, and scanner.
- Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others.
- Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations including keyboarding, up/downloading files, using the Internet, basic knowledge of MS Office applications and using email.
- Work environment is an office setting.
- Use of computer equipment. Requires lifting full boxes and moving boxes with a dolly from one point to another.
- Push carts from one point to another.
- Position involves periods of extended standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting and carrying light to medium weight (10-50 lbs.).
- Organize and display surplus items for easy identification
- Assist staff in finding surplus items
- Assist in receiving, stocking, facing and rotating surplus items in the Surplus Store Sort through items determining what is surplus, recycling, shred and garbage. Provide items descriptions for surplus items being sold
- Use a computer to gather information about surplus items for sale.
- Keep Surplus store accessible and clear of boxes and debris
