Pack Member Profile: Controller

The Controller is a key leadership role responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations for both the company and its restaurant clients. This position ensures accuracy in financial reporting, oversees accounts payable and receivable, manages payroll, and supports financial decision-making. The Controller will work closely with the CEO, partners, and administrative team to maintain financial health, improve processes, and provide insights that drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Accounting:

  • Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for the company and its clients.
  • Manage month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, sales tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Monitor weekly cash balances and manage cash flow for optimal financial stability.
  • Prepare financial reports and KPIs to provide insights for leadership and clients.


Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:

  • Oversee weekly AP processing, vendor payments, and invoice approvals.
  • Manage client billing, recurring service charges, and financial reconciliations.
  • Handle collections and AR follow-ups to ensure timely payments.


Payroll & Tax Compliance:

  • Supervise bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ADP and other payroll systems.
  • Coordinate with CPAs to prepare tax packages and ensure compliance with tax filings.
  • Oversee monthly commissions, partner distributions, and payroll-related tax filings


Operational & Administrative Support:

  • Work closely with the administrative team to manage financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
  • Assist in contract renewals, vendor negotiations, and financial system improvements.
  • Serve as a liaison for R365, ensuring smooth integrations and financial data accuracy.
  • Cross-train with administrative personnel and provide coverage as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or controller-level roles.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
  • Experience with Restaurant365 (R365), ADP, and other financial systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop KPIs and financial insights.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
