Job Summary:
We are seeking a Controller to oversee the financial operations for Hampton Rubber and Custom Hydraulic in Wilmington, NC. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with the team and helping to maintain accurate financial records. The role focuses on managing daily accounting activities, preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Accounting Operations: Manage core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist in preparing the annual budget and forecast updates. Provide support to management with financial insights as needed.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Help ensure compliance with financial policies, and assist with maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and help facilitate smooth audit processes.
- Team Support: Supervise and guide a small accounting team, providing mentorship and helping to improve processes.
- Cash Flow Monitoring: Support cash flow management, ensuring there is adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations.
- Cost Control Assistance: Assist in identifying areas for potential cost savings and support initiatives to improve financial performance.
- Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Provide basic financial analysis to assist management in making informed business decisions.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a similar industry or business unit environment.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems), and strong knowledge of MS Excel.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Leadership: Ability to lead a small team, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment.
