Summary:
Perform a variety of payroll related tasks to aid and support the overall needs of the Payroll department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile and enter employee payroll data such as, but not limited to hours worked, rates, piecework, and deductions for all farming locations by following established guidelines and processing procedures.
- Ensure correct approvals on all payroll documents presented for processing.
- Compute and review wages and deductions to ensure complete accuracy
- Oversee employee payroll accounting, transactions and reporting activities
- Prepare computer input forms.
- Enter in necessary data and maintain computer payroll files.
- Ensure all payroll and time sheets are received and correctly entered for all farming crews.
- Responsible for handling any corrections and/or additions for farming crews and keeping immediate supervisor aware of any changes or developments.
- Review and ensure accuracy of check distribution list.
- Summarize and review farming Crew-Leaders pay.
- Assist in completion of other payrolls as needed.
- Ensure the accurate distribution of paychecks.
- Track, maintain log, and report weekly Signature Lists returned and paychecks not distributed.
- Assist in annual W-2’s preparation and distributions.
- Establish and maintain a reliable and productive relationship with remote locations.
- Complete a variety of clerical tasks, including but not limited to, filing payroll sheets, Crew-Leaders weekly payrolls, time sheets, and answering the phones as needed to support the overall department.
- Act as assistant to organize and assist in day-to-day responsibilities of both HR Director & HR/Payroll Manager
- Must be able to work overtime as needed (including weekends) to help meet necessary deadlines.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.

- High school education or equivalent
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to operate a computer using standard office software
- Ability to learn and operate Microsoft Excel
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish or Creole)
- Must be able to occasionally work overtime (evening and weekend shifts) to complete and meet necessary payroll deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
