Summary
Directs and manages the company wide continuous improvement projects and develops systems to ensure process improvement. Oversees cost reductions and savings related to Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) and Continuous Improvement Projects utilizing t he LEAP (LISI Excellence Achievement Program) Program that is designed to improve operational performance through the implementation of Management, Quality, LEAN and Six Sigma methods.
The LEAN Manufacturing Leader will be responsible for training and coaching of team members; ensuring standardization, compliance to methods, and piloting workshops or projects. The LEAN Manufacturing Leader will work closely with the CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) teams to coordinate and track improvement efforts; assists in the evaluation, development and implementation of training to achieve LEAP integration goals and objectives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Responsible for the development and implementation of training in accordance with the LEAP integration goals and objectives.
- Leads the company-wide implementation of Lean Manufacturing; 5-S, Cellular design, TPM, Poka-Yoke, SMED and JIT manufacturing techniques.
- Supports the implementation of LEAN-LEAP and UAP/GAP through trainings.
- Training and coaching of team members, ensuring standardization and compliance to methods and pilots workshops or projects.
- Introduces and supports the use of new tools in assigned areas.
- Supports operations in the choice of tools and priorities, identification of process re-engineering opportunities through performance data analysis, such as Six Sigma or capability studies.
- Provides support to production and engineering teams.
- Leads and coordinates improvement projects with process owners.
- Tracks progress of projects.
- Identifies and leads process improvement projects this includes making recommendations for projects/programs, selection of project participants, development required in order to achieve expected results, and purchase of equipment.
- Coordinates with internal subject matter experts such as HSE, HR, Quality, and Engineering to ensure projects solutions are in compliance with local and company regulations.
- Works with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) on specific improvement projects related to HSE
- Conducts Best Practice Studies with LISI companies well as with “World Class” companies.
- Manages multiple projects with dynamic shifting priorities and targets.
- Achieves timely results associated with tasks and objectives assigned
- Partners with the Operation and Quality to ensure that new or revised Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) are understood, trained, and implemented.
- Ensures managers conduct training of new and revised SOP's.
- Develops and conducts audits to ensure SOPs used in production are controlled, current, and readily available to team members.
- Facilitates team member training of newly implemented standard processes.
- Partners with the other departments to identify and recommend team member development needs related to techniques and implementation of CIP.
Essential Job Requirements Skills And Abilities
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Project Management or Engineering; minimum 8 years in a manufacturing environment required ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified and/or experienced in Project Management, Six Sigma (Black Belt) and Lean manufacturing methodologies.
