Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting products and provide knowledgeable recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.
- Utilize effective selling techniques, including upselling and cross-selling, to maximize sales opportunities.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently, processing transactions and handling cash as required.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by restocking merchandise and ensuring product displays are well-maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance overall store performance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and inventory management as needed.
- Support supervisory staff in training new associates and fostering a positive team environment.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
- Proficiency in retail math to assist with inventory management and sales reporting.
- Experience with POS systems to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and inventory counts.
- Previous experience in grocery store settings is preferred but not required.
