Assistant Teacher, Preschool

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves implementing engaging curriculum activities that promote early childhood education and prepare children for future academic success.

Duties

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Facilitate activities that promote literacy education, math skills, and overall cognitive development.
• Provide toddler care, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
• Assess children's development through observation and documentation of their learning experiences.
• Collaborate with other educators to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.

Skills

• Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Experience in curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children.
• Knowldge or experience in Montessori will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Experience in private school settings is a plus but not required.
• A nurturing attitude towards toddler care and child development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 12 units in Child Development or early childhood education continuing education until twelve units are completed.
• All vaccination requirements such as MMR, TDAP, FLU VACCINE
• TB Test clearance should be obtained prior to taking up the position
• Mandated Reporter certification
• Pediatric first aid/ CPR/ AED for adult, child and Infant

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

Must be physically able to perform the job of an Assistant Teacher of young children. Must have a warm, supportive attitude towards young children. Must be reliable and flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program. Must be willing to accept supervision to improve work performance.

Pay: Up to $18.50 per hour
